These terms are an agreement between you and Hintr Limited (company number 17526959, “we”) for using hintr at hintr.net. By creating an account you agree to them and to our Acceptable Use Policy and Privacy Policy.
hintr is a beta. It may change, have bugs, lose data or be unavailable, and features may be added or removed without notice. It is provided free of charge “as is”.
You must be 18 or over, use your own mobile number, and give your real first name and surname. One account per person. We don’t check ID, but if we find out an account belongs to someone under 18 we will delete it.
Every day there is one challenge for all groups. Entries are taken live in the app until 7pm (London time); voting runs 7pm–9pm; the podium is published at 9pm with the next challenge. Points are for fun and have no cash value. We may change timings, scoring and rules.
Anyone can start a group and becomes its admin. Admins can rename it, choose who can join, change the invite code and remove members. Groups can be any kind — friends, a club or a work team. We may remove groups that break these terms.
You keep ownership of your photos. You give us a licence to store, process and show them to the members of the groups you entered, and in results and archives for those groups, for as long as they are on hintr. You confirm each photo is taken by you, live, and shows only you or things you own or have permission to photograph, and that no one appears in it without their consent.
You can report entries and people, and block people. We review reports and may hide content, remove people from groups, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms or our Acceptable Use Policy. Entries may be hidden automatically after several reports while we review them.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, or stop the beta, with notice where reasonable.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Otherwise, because hintr is a free beta, we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable loss, and our total liability to you is limited to £50. Your statutory rights are not affected.
We may update these terms and will show the new date in the app. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, but you may also bring claims where you live in the UK.
